Your journey begins early, departing from Panama City toward the Pacific Coast to meet your local captain. Alongside your Isthmian Adventures naturalist guide, you’ll set course for the shimmering expanse of the Pearl Islands, where tropical islands rise from sapphire waters—and the ancient migration of whales comes to life.
The first sighting may be a plume of mist on the horizon, a flash of silver, or a wide tail lifting against the sky. In these calm nursery waters, humpback whales gather between July and October to mate, give birth, and raise their calves. Watching them—breaching, tail-slapping, spy-hopping, or gliding silently just beneath the surface—feels like witnessing an ancient dance written in salt and time.
